Brief History: Although Camdyn's parents are both wizards, muggle blood runs through Camdyn's veins, something considered quite dangerous for a Slytherin - though it is more common than anyone would care to admit. Camdyn's mother was the first and only witch in her family (as far as she was concerned, but research into her history would have shown a few others), but her father comes from a highly respected pureblood family. Camdyn's great grandfather on her father's side spent a few years establishing pureblood societies in Australia. Camdyn's mother, a Ravenclaw in her Hogwarts years, convinced everyone that her parents were powerful wizards that were killed in a 'tragedy', Camdyn's Slytherin father being one who believed the tale. All it took was some false elitism on her mother's part, and no one questioned a thing, too focused on those who were openly pro-muggle. When her parents were wed, Camdyn's mother was forced to come clean, and word spread to Camdyn's pureblood grandparents. Although they told no one of their son's betrayal, they disowned him. Camdyn's parents fled to South Africa, where Camdyn was born. After a few years had passed and things settled down (Camdyn's pureblood grandparents now dead), the Bakers returned to Britain in order for Camdyn to attend Hogwarts. She was sorted into Slytherin, like her father before her.

Camdyn's earliest experiences with magic come from her metamorphmagus ability. Although Camdyn received most of her natural outward appearance from her mother, her father's side provided her with the opportunity to change appearance at will - Camdyn's grandmother having been a metamorphmagus as well. Though the ability started out rather slowly - a flash of green eyes, a strand of blonde hair - Camdyn worked hard to master her morphing, constantly finding new aspects of the ability (such as changing the length of her fingers, making herself taller, etc.) to be easier to figure out than she'd assumed. Because this ability was something she was born with, not something she was attempting to learn - like an animagus would, Camdyn finally came into her full powers on her thirteenth birthday. She is usually tempted only to change her hair colour, or her height if something is harder to be reached, but she can occasionally change her appearance entirely to find some amusement. As a Slytherin, being clever and sneaky appeals to her now and again.


Plot Thus Far: Camdyn found it difficult to make friends at the castle, desperately longing to move back to South Africa where she spent her earlier years. She hates the cold, and it's most often her complaint about the castle and its location. She can be found being defiant to her own feelings and wearing less layers on occasion, though it's more common to see her bundled up when not in her usual attire of school robes.

Her only friend for quite some time was a bloke named Tobias, and when he left the school, Camdyn didn't know who to turn to. Though there were some Slytherins she respected, Camdyn hardly felt connected to those in her house and longed to be in another. Her ambition and cunning, and not her pureblood history, have placed her with the snakes. She knows of her mother's history, and she has no intention of killing off innocent people for what she sees as a 'silly idea'. Her father was called to important business in South Africa in the middle of term and Camdyn begged to go with him, but as other issues built up in the country, the Bakers returned to Britain. After begging the headmaster to let Camdyn return to her schooling, and the safety of the castle, Camdyn was readmitted. She is determined to make the most of what's left of the term and the rest of her years at Hogwarts. He current fascinations are with her slight crush Hargreaves Beckett (hargreaves_b), Ben Connelly (ben_connelly), and Lolita Damon (lolita_damon).


Personality: Camdyn keeps mostly to herself for fear of rejection by those who merely glance at the Slytherin crest, but she is often unable to keep her thoughts to herself. She often gives her opinion when it is not asked of her, amused by the reactions she receives. She doesn't instigate fights on a regular basis, but she's very defensive - she will stand up for herself as she does not have faith that anyone else will do anything to help her. She's incredibly friendly, and has always wanted to show her good nature, but the way she presents herself can sometimes make her seem aloof. She doesn't like to be told she is wrong, and will get cold if it happens, but still accepts and uses the advice she is given. She loves nature and animals, and spends a good deal of her time at the magical creature pens or the Quidditch pitch. She's very good at keeping her emotions hidden when it suits her, hiding behind a stone face. She's always been a bit indecisive, not quick to trust those around her no matter how much she would like to do so. She makes judgement calls based on rather odd observations, then changes her mind after getting to know a person further. All in all she's a people person with a bit of an edge, sometimes getting lost in her own goals for herself, but always having the best of intentions.
